Grew up at 607 Locust Ave SE
Father, William Kenneth Rindge (1898 – 1935), University of Michigan graduate, Grand Rapids architect, Rindge & Rindge. He designed 25 homes in East Grand Rapids in the Georgian, Colonial and Tudor style; including his own home at 607 Locust Ave SE
His homes are still standing in East Grand Rapids as well as two built on North Port Point for Hollis Baker. His daughter, Posie, uses one as her summer home.
He was also a woodworking artist who made a dollhouse, rocking chair, doll wardrobe and more for his daughter. In addition, he built the fireplace mantel at the DKE fraternity house at UofM. He sadly died at age 36 of bone cancer leaving his wife and seven-year old daughter. Mother, Virginia “Ginny” Stratton Ward Riker (1899 – 1998) co-owned and operated Rosemary’s Delicacies in East Grand Rapids’ business district at 2141 Wealthy Street SE (1953 – 1971) with Catharine “Kitty” P. Roberts.
